Videos
On this page I collect the videos from my YouTube channel on abdominal wall surgery, the TESAR technique and rectus diastasis. Some of them show footage of real surgical procedures.
What kind of videos are on the channel?
- Explanations of abdominal wall conditions: hernias, incisional hernias, rectus diastasis;
- Demonstrations of the TESAR technique and of extraperitoneal endoscopic techniques;
- Recorded operations and live surgery, intended for colleagues as well;
- Public talks for patients and healthcare professionals.
Why do I publish this content?
For the same reason I wrote a book and these pages: an informed patient makes better choices, whatever they choose. The videos aimed at colleagues, on the other hand, serve as a technical exchange.
How the videos are organised
The material follows three strands. The first explains abdominal wall conditions — hernias, incisional hernias, rectus diastasis — in language written for people deciding whether to have surgery. The second shows the TESAR technique and extraperitoneal endoscopic approaches, with commentary on the key steps. The third collects talks and lectures recorded at courses and congresses.
Videos are not a substitute for a consultation: no footage can tell you whether an operation is indicated in your particular case. They are there to make clear what happens before, during and after abdominal wall surgery.

Frequently asked questions about the videos
- Do the videos contain images of real operations?
- Yes. Some videos show surgical footage recorded in the operating room: these are flagged, and they are intended for those who want to see how an operation is carried out.
- Are the videos for patients or for colleagues?
- At both, but with distinct content: the explanations of abdominal wall conditions are written for patients, while the operations and live surgery are for technical exchange between surgeons.
- Where is the full channel?
- On the YouTube channel @federicofiori2383, where the videos are published and updated.
